Pownal Rescue Squad is a non-profit emergency medical service dedicated to providing high-quality, compassionate patient care to the residents and visitors of Pownal, Vermont. Our team responds to a wide range of medical emergencies, delivering prompt treatment, stabilization, and transportation to ensure patients receive the care they need when it matters most.

 In addition to serving the Pownal community, Pownal Rescue Squad plays an important role in the regional emergency response system. Approximately 30% of our calls involve mutual aid responses to neighboring communities, including departments throughout Bennington County, Vermont, and Northern Berkshire County, Massachusetts. These partnerships help ensure that surrounding towns have access to timely emergency medical services when additional resources are needed.

 Our providers are highly trained emergency medical professionals who are committed to maintaining the highest standards of care. Through ongoing education, advanced medical equipment, and strong collaboration with other EMS agencies, local fire departments, law enforcement, and hospitals, we strive to deliver professional and reliable emergency medical services every day.

As the close of the year draws near, many of our supporters begin exploring ways to give back to the organizations that matter most to them—including ours. While generosity is often rooted in a desire to make a difference, charitable contributions may also provide tax benefits.

If you’re hoping to take advantage of a charitable deduction, timing is an important factor. According to IRS guidelines, a donation is eligible for a tax deduction only once it has been officially received, or “delivered,” to the nonprofit.

The method of delivery can impact when your gift is recognized. For example, a check mailed through the U.S. Postal Service is considered received on the postmark date. However, if that same donation is sent via a courier service such as UPS or FedEx, it is not considered delivered until it physically arrives at the organization.

To avoid delays and ensure your contribution is processed promptly, making a one-time or recurring donation online is often the most convenient and reliable option.
