Paramedic Intercept

A Paramedic Intercept is an emergency response in which the initially dispatched ambulance, typically staffed with a BLS crew, arrives on scene and determines through patient assessment that advanced care is required—such as airway management, medication administration, or other critical interventions. A paramedic is then dispatched to either meet the transporting unit on scene or intercept them en route to the hospital, providing advanced care while ensuring that transport is not delayed.
