CPR Courses

CPR, or cardiopulmonary resuscitation, is an easy-to-learn first aid technique that can keep the victims of a sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) or another medical emergency alive until medical professionals can take over. CPR keeps blood pumping through the body, which helps maintain vital organ function. CPR has two primary goals: to keep oxygen flowing in and out of the lungs and to keep oxygenated blood flowing throughout the entire body. Hands-only CPR (also known as compression-only CPR) is CPR without rescue breaths. The American Heart Association has noted that “Hands-only CPR carried out by a bystander has been shown to be as effective as CPR with breaths in the first few minutes during an out-of-hospital sudden cardiac arrest for an adult victim.”

We offer a variety of CPR courses based on your needs and what you are looking for, whether it be to have the knowledge to save another person's life, get a job as a babysitter or looking to go into healthcare and need this for your professional license. Which course is right for me?

Heartsaver®

The Heartsaver® courses include First Aid, CPR & AED, and First Aid CPR & AED. These courses are all classroom, video-based, and instructor-led courses. These courses are for anyone with limited or no medical training.

  • First Aid teaches critical skills to respond to and manage an emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services (EMS) arrives. Students learn skills such as how to treat bleeding, sprains, broken bones, shock and other first aid emergencies.

  • CPR & AED teaches adult CPR and AED use, as well as how to relieve choking on an adult. This course teaches skills with AHA’s research-proven Practice-While-Watching (PWW) technique, which allows instructors to observe the students, provide feedback and guide the students’ learning of skills.

  • First Aid, CPR & AED combines both courses and students learn skills such as how to treat bleeding, sprains, broken bones, shock and other first aid emergencies. This course also teaches adult CPR and AED use.
